Many of our patients insist on having ceramic brackets.
Why?
Let's begin with the material from which they're made.
Ceramic brackets remain completely unaffected during the entire course of treatment.
A special manufacturing process gives them an exceptionally good surface quality, which makes them impervious to the stains
commonly seen with other materials.
The next important criterion is easy cleaning.
The brackets are very smooth and have a comfortably rounded shape, which makes them easy to clean and consequently
much more hygienic.
Another important feature is theirwhite color and high translucency that make them nearly indistinguishable
from natural teeth.
The use of very pure aluminum oxide is responsible for this aesthetic perfection. Instead of looking like shiny
metal, the translucency effect lets the natural color of the teeth shine through the brackets, which makes them
nearly invisible.
And last but not least:
their strength.
When you hear the word ceramic, you automatically think breakable.
But that's not the case.
The very dense polycrystalline structure of the ceramic material used for the brackets makes their resistance
to breakage and functional strength comparable to that of metal brackets.
In summary, ceramic brackets fulfill all requirements of modern orthodontic treatment. They can
be used everywhere where traditional metal brackets could also be used.
